Noctaria is a living world designed for fair play, competition, and cooperation. To protect this balance, all players must follow the rules listed here. Ignorance of the rules is not an excuse. Violations may result in punishments ranging from warnings to permanent account deletion, depending on the severity and frequency of the offense. Sanctions are applied at the sole discretion of the Noctaria Staff.
These rules apply to the game client, the website, Discord, forums, and any other official Noctaria service.
1. Character Names
- 1a. Offensive Names
- Names that contain insulting, racist, sexually explicit, sexist, drug-related, political extremist, or otherwise offensive content are strictly forbidden.
- Examples:
- Not allowed: Bastardmage, Racistlord, Hitlerwarrior, SexySlave, Dopecaster
- Allowed: Stormknight, Silver Druid
- 1b. Invalid Formats
- Names may not contain sentence fragments, nonsensical characters, or formatting that breaks immersion.
- Examples:
- Not allowed: Mike Returns, Fgfshdsfg, Thegreatknight, Xx_Dragon_xX
- Allowed: Marcus, Ironfist, Lunaria
- 1c. Non-Personal or Misleading Names
- Names must describe a person and cannot be objects, locations, celebrities, or misleading imitations.
- Examples:
- Not allowed: Christmastree, Matrix, Britney Spears, Swedish Druid, Arieswer (to impersonate Arieswar), System Admin
- Allowed: Druidus, Knightmare
- 1d. Advertising or Political/Religious Names
- Names may not advertise real-world brands, services, or websites, and may not express political or religious views.
- Examples:
- Not allowed: BuyGoldHere, NikeWarrior, JesusHeals, VoteForTrump
- Allowed: Goldenblade, Faithknight (as long as not linked to real-world religion)
2. Cheating
- 2a. Bug Abuse
- Exploiting errors in the game for personal gain is forbidden. Bugs must be reported immediately.
- Examples:
- Not allowed: Duplicating items through a map glitch, bypassing walls with a movement bug.
- Allowed: Reporting a bug to a Gamemaster without using it to gain advantage.
- 2b. Gameplay Abuse
- Arranging objects, characters, or creatures in a way that unfairly prevents other players from moving or playing is not permitted.
- Examples:
- Not allowed: Blocking a temple exit with parcels, trapping players with items.
- Allowed: Strategic blocking during a legitimate PvP fight in the open world.
- 2c. Automation & Macros
- Using any tool that automates gameplay is forbidden. This includes bots, macros, scripts, or external programs.
- Examples:
- Not allowed: Auto-heal bots, rune makers running without player input, fishing macros.
- Allowed: Using in-game hotkeys and built-in functions only.
- 2d. Manipulation of the Client
- Editing or injecting modifications into the client program is prohibited.
- Examples:
- Not allowed: Using modified clients with cheat features, packet editors.
- Allowed: Using the official Noctaria client provided on the website.
- 2e. Account Security Violations
- Attempting to steal, trade, or share account data is forbidden.
- Examples:
- Not allowed: Phishing websites, asking another player for their password, selling accounts.
- Allowed: Logging into your own account only.
- 2f. Multi-Clienting
- Only one account per person may be online at a time.
- Examples:
- Not allowed: Playing two characters at the same time, even on different PCs or networks.
- Allowed: Logging out and switching to another character.
3. Communication & Behavior
- 3a. Offensive Statements
- Insulting, racist, sexually explicit, drug-related, or harassing language is forbidden.
- Examples:
- Not allowed: “You’re a worthless bastard,” racial slurs, sexual harassment in chat.
- Allowed: Friendly banter like “Haha, you noob!”
- 3b. Spam
- Spamming channels, repeating messages excessively, or flooding with nonsensical text is not allowed.
- Examples:
- Not allowed: “SELL RUNE 100x” every second, random letters like “asdkasjdakjsd”.
- Allowed: Posting a trade offer once every few minutes.
- 3c. Advertising
- Advertising unrelated products, services, or real-money trades is forbidden.
- Examples:
- Not allowed: “Visit my website for cheats,” “Selling items for PayPal.”
- Allowed: In-game trades using gold or items.
- 3d. Off-Topic Public Statements
- Channels must be used for their intended purpose.
- Examples:
- Not allowed: Discussing politics in the Trade channel, religious preaching in the Help channel.
- Allowed: Discussing game mechanics in the Help channel.
- 3e. Privacy
- Revealing another person’s personal data is forbidden.
- Examples:
- Not allowed: Posting another player’s real name, phone number, or address.
- Allowed: Sharing your own information voluntarily.
- 3f. Supporting Rule Violation
- Encouraging or promoting violations of the rules is forbidden.
- Examples:
- Not allowed: “Here’s a link to a bot program,” “You should cheat too.”
- Allowed: Warning others that cheating will get them banned.
- 3g. Destructive Behavior
- Any action that deliberately harms the server or the enjoyment of others will be punished.
- Examples:
- Not allowed: Running 10 shopkeepers to block all depot tiles, scamming by impersonating another player, blocking temple exits.
- Allowed: Competitive PvP or legitimate market competition.
4. Interaction with Gamemasters
- 4a. Threats Against Staff
- Threatening or insulting a Gamemaster is strictly forbidden.
- Examples:
- Not allowed: “Unban me or I’ll hack you,” “You’re a corrupt GM.”
- Allowed: Appealing respectfully if you believe a punishment was unfair.
- 4b. Impersonation
- Pretending to be a Gamemaster or claiming influence over staff decisions is forbidden.
- Examples:
- Not allowed: Naming yourself “GM Helper,” “AdminKnight,” or saying “I can unban you.”
- Allowed: None.
- 4c. False Information
- Deliberately misleading Gamemasters or filing false reports is forbidden.
- Examples:
- Not allowed: Reporting a player for botting when they are clearly active.
- Allowed: Reporting in good faith, even if staff later decide it was not a violation.
5. Player Killing
- 5a. Excessive Killing
- On Noctaria, players may be punished for excessive random killing. While PvP is allowed, harassment of non-skull players will not be tolerated.
- Examples:
- Not allowed: Repeatedly killing the same player who is not in PvP, killing low-level players for no reason.
- Allowed: Killing a skull-marked player or defending yourself in PvP.
- 5b. Kill Limits
- Automatic punishments may apply if daily, weekly, or monthly kill limits are exceeded. Details will be announced on the website.
6. Legal Violations
- 6a. Hacking
- Stealing accounts, using malicious links, or attempting to break into the server’s system is strictly forbidden.
- Examples:
- Not allowed: Fake login pages, trojans, or phishing links.
- Allowed: None.
- 6b. Attacks on the Server
- Any attempt to disrupt or damage Noctaria’s infrastructure will result in permanent bans and possible legal action.
- Examples:
- Not allowed: DDoS attacks, crashing the server with exploits.
- Allowed: None.
- 6c. Fraudulent Payments
- Chargebacks, stolen credit cards, or fraudulent payment methods will lead to account deletion.
- 6d. Violation of Law
- Breaking any applicable law through the game will result in removal from Noctaria.
7. Enforcement & Punishments
- Sanctions may include: warnings, temporary bans, permanent bans, deletion of characters, reduction of skills or items.
- Severity matters: Minor offenses may get warnings. Severe offenses may result in immediate permanent ban.
- Repeat offenders: Players with multiple violations will face harsher punishments.
- No compensation: Removed accounts or items will not be compensated under any circumstances.
- Staff discretion: Decisions are final and made by the Noctaria Staff team to protect the community.
8. Rule Changes
- Rules may be updated at any time. All changes will be announced on the official website. Continued play after changes means you accept them.
